Lucy Anderson

Lucy Anderson is a designer who is interested in the relationship between design,  environmental sustainability, and social inequality. She is currently based in London, as she is about to graduate with a BA in Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins. Lucy believes that design has the potential to help create a world which benefits everyone. Her aim is to create objects that don’t necessarily fulfil their functional purpose, but can be used to initiate a conversation and begin to change attitudes.

Lusy is attracted to ceramic objects because she feels that they communicate their use and significance so clearly. The way people interact with the objects they surround themselves with is of great interest to her and she often begin projects by observing peoples behaviour. Much of her most recent work has revolved around the value of food in todays society; Lucy feels that the close relationship between ceramic and food had made this an ideal material for exploring this topic.
