The mugs and tasting vessel Saskia has designed are made to acknowledge the UKs growing coffee culture. She first explored the movement whilst study for her dissertation and was inspired to create a set of vessels that enhance the experience for the coffee drinker and connoisseur. Her mugs are inspired by the same aeration used in tasting wine whilst the “Tastevin” is also made in the same way that Sommelier would use to taste. Coffee can roughly be translated from Arabic as ‘wine of the bean’ and Saskia has taken its status as an artisanal foodstuff like wine, to design a range that it can truly be enjoyed from in her slip cast ceramic pieces.
